NetPark Wellbeing

NetPark Wellbeing now have their January to end of March 2023 courses lined up. If you would like to get booked in you can contact Emma for more information or you can fill out the self referral form, details for both are at the end of this article. You can attend in person or online. If a group is full, they can put you on the waiting list for April 2023.

They now can have spaces for up to 8 participants to come into the art room at Chalkwell Park and 4 spaces to join via Zoom. Have a look at their Instagram for examples of work from some of the following groups https://www.instagram.com/netparkwellbeing/. They also do partnership work with Metal artists on residencies.

They have provided details of the available groups below.

Groups Running from January 2023

Monday mornings - Dementia Group 1 from 10am - 12pm (ongoing)

This is an on-going group for people living with dementia, participants can join in person at the art school or join us via Zoom to make art for two hours. Carers can leave their dementia relatives with us and have two hours free respite. We are happy to talk through with anybody how to use Zoom if they need help.

 

Monday afternoon - Men Only Domestic Violence or Trauma group from 1.30pm - 3.30pm (Starting 09/1/23)

This is a 12-week group that we have devised especially for men who have lived with domestic abuse or who are asking for help dealing with past trauma. This will be a man only space run by a male facilitator and male volunteers. There is an onsite trained, experienced, and registered Psychotherapist who will supervise the facilitator before and after each session. The focus will be trauma informed art wellbeing and psycho education. We offer a safe space to help work through this.

Tuesday afternoon Journaling Group from 1.30pm - 3.30pm (Starting 10/1/23) 

This twelve-week journal group will show you how to use a journal to undertake art wellbeing activities. This includes drawing, doodling, writing, photographing, and collaging. You can join this course at Metal Art School or via Zoom.

 

Tuesday afternoon Art Wellbeing Group held at SAVS, Alexandra Street, Southend  SS1 1BW from 1.30pm - 3.30pm (Starting 31/1/23)

This ten-week course involves using different art materials; paint, felt tips, colouring pencils, collage materials, digital art to create art for personal wellbeing. No experience required. All art materials and refreshments will be provided free of charge. This group will be held at SAVS in Southend.

 

Wednesday morning Yoga & Art Therapy Trauma Group from 9.30am – 11.30am (Starting 11/1/23)

This twelve-week course involves 50 minutes of yoga with a trained and qualified yoga therapist and teacher followed by art making and gentle trauma related psychoeducation with a qualified Art Psychotherapist. This group is for people that have experienced trauma and want to experience the healing qualities of yoga whilst understanding how trauma can affect us all in a gentle and contained way. You can join this course at Metal Art School or via Zoom. 

 

Wednesday afternoon Hearing Impaired and Deaf art Group from 1.30pm - 3.30pm (Starting 11/1/23)

This 10-week group is for over 18's. Run by a qualified counsellor who has a hearing disability and is a fluent BSL communicator. There will also be a deaf interpreter present throughout to translate. Using different art materials; paint, felt tips, colouring pencils, collage materials, digital art to create art for personal wellbeing. No experience required. All art materials and refreshments will be provided free of charge.
