Queensway Matters

The Resident engagement team have been supporting residents to arrange events at Queensway to talk about what they would like to see on their estate.

In October, volunteers from South Essex Homes, Axis Europe, NatWest, and ATF came together to completely revamp the planters on the Queensway Estate.

They painted them some vibrant colours, to brighten up the area, and even planted some bulbs to start the process of some beautiful flowers blooming!

residents enjoying the bbq

Previously, residents on the Queensway estate enjoyed an afternoon of fun at the third event of the summer as they embraced the sunshine and indulged in a delicious BBQ in August 2023. The face painting was a huge success and there was queue from start to finish!

This was the third event on the estate since April 2023. Our Resident Engagement team continued to work with residents and their families to arrange activities and events across the estate. The next event was planned to paint planters and the children came up with some fabulous colourful and fun designs.

Planters

Residents from the Queensway estate got together at the start of Summer 2023 to enjoy a delicious BBQ and take part in sports games and activities at Queensway.

The Resident Engagement team supported residents to arrange events over the summer months and talk about what they would like to see on their estate.

At the first event in April, the children drew lots of brilliant pictures of new designs for the planters outside the Storehouse, this next event gave us an opportunity to talk to tenants about planning the prep work and the final designs. Get the Kids Out, Trustlinks and the Storehouse supported with funding, plants and lots of paint, not forgetting the delicious burgers and hotdogs. STRF also donated colouring books and pencils for the children to enjoy.

One resident remarked ‘how good it was to see people coming together, chatting and having fun and more of it’’
